Put on a show with friends in our virtual AAC Drama Club! Participants will be guided through all parts of
putting on a play with their peers who use AAC, including choosing a script, rehearsing lines, and acting out a story together. The program will culminate in a virtual performance! Please plan to attend all 5 sessions. Those who register but do not show up to the first session will lose their spot. After registering, you will receive an optional survey to better allow us to tailor the program to participants. This is a wonderful opportunity to build creativity, self-expression, language, and communication skills!
Drama Club will be led by Kate Ahern. Kate is a renowned special education teacher, consultant, and author with over two decades of experience. She specializes in helping children with complex communication needs, sensory processing issues, and profound/multiple disabilities. Kate runs an online school for AAC users, and is the moderator of the popular Facebook support group "AAC through Motivate, Model, Move Out of the Way.”
We at ACLibrary care about your privacy. We use Zoom to host our virtual programs. None of our live programs are recorded and none of the chat logs are saved. Everyone registered for an online program will receive the link to participate in a separate email before the program begins.
An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least three business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or [email protected].
This activity is presented by Alameda County Library and scheduled to take place on and Saturday 9/14 from 2p-2:45p at Virtual. For more information, click "Participate" to visit the website of Alameda County Library.
