Storytime at Alameda County Library

Join us for stories and music on Sunday afternoon at Newark Library. This program is in Russian and is planned for children ages 2 and older, but everyone is welcome.

Be prepared to sit on the floor with a child in your lap to hear stories and sing songs.

After storytime, play with age-appropriate toys, make new friends, and explore.

Families are invited to join us for stories, songs and fingerplays! This program is geared towards toddlers and preschoolers, but is open to all ages. We will be meeting in the Virginia Bennett Room. No registration necessary.

Our monthly American Sign Language (ASL) story time is back for the school year 2024- 2025!

Come and enjoy watching two different fluent storytellers tell stories in ASL. Each month, there will be a different theme for storytelling, such as pirates, families, animals, true stories, and more! 

Also, we will recognize diversity through storytelling in some months, such as Latino Heritage Month and Black History Month.

Storytimes offered are for - 

• Preschool - 2nd grade at 6:30 - 7:00 PM

• 3rd - 5th grade at 7:00 - 7:30 PM

Everyone is welcome to drop-in for this free program.  No tickets are necessary.

Note: Interpreters will not be provided.

Welcome to pajama storytime!

Put on a pair of cozy pajamas, bring your favorite stuffed toy, and get ready to wind down for the day. Join us as we read books and sing songs, and help us say good night to the library.

This program is designed for toddlers and preschoolers but is open to everyone.

Caregivers/parents must be present to engage with their children during the program as we learn and explore together!

No registration required, but space is limited.

Please join us as we learn through stories, songs, and movement activities. Toddlers, preschoolers and families are welcome. 

Little Learners Storytime is held every Tuesday*.

Free tickets will be given out 15 minutes before the event begins. Please bring blankets to sit on for our outdoor storytime. 

*This event will be cancelled during bad weather.
