Teen Advisory Group (TAG) members advise the library on the best way to connect with and serve teens. You may select new teen books and movies, suggest new programs and services, or even design and run your own programs. Snacks and drinks are provided.

Summer TAG meetings will be held twice a month in person on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, 5:30-7:30pm, with a 30 minute break halfway through. Meetings take place at the Newark Library, in the Teen Lounge, on the second floor. There is no minimum duration commitment, but we are looking for TAG members who will attend as often as possible.

Requirements

  • Be in grades 7-12
  • Attend regularly scheduled TAG meetings

If you are interested in attending, please fill out an application here and will respond to you as soon as we can.

After you apply, you will receive an e-mail response within 24-48 hours, depending on when you apply. Please check your Spam folder for that response, if you don't see it in your Inbox.

*Note for parents: please have your teen fill out the application since they will be the ones volunteering.

An ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter or closed captioning can be provided for this program if requested at least three business days in advance. For assistance, please contact your library or [email protected].

This activity is presented by Alameda County Library and scheduled to take place on Monday 11/11 from 5:30p-7:30p at Alameda County Library - Newark. For more information, click "Participate" to visit the website of Alameda County Library.
