A challenging course in sailing and navigating a ship - Build teamwork, boost self confidence & face your fears with the support of fellow crew members!Students learn in an inclusive environment: Teamwork skills as part of a crew raising, lowering and stowing sails To overcome their fears by climbing the 75′ rig and going Aloft! Hands on sailing and seamanship such as line handling, use of winches, belaying pins and pulleys & proper line coiling To read the wind and water, learning the science of true and apparent wind, the currents and tides of the Bay and Sail terminology, theory & stability To face challenges by taking responsibility for themselves and team mates as they steer the vessel on San Francisco Bay
