Computer docents are volunteers who answer simple technical questions and offer basic instruction on library computers. They help you get started, so you can take those skills and continue to explore and learn on your own!
Computer Docents can:
Teach you to use email
Teach you to create and save documents
Teach you to print out a document or web page
Teach you to do basic web searches
Assist you with eBooks on the Libby app
Computer Docents cannot:
Perform repair work on your device
Install hardware, software or program updates on your device
Provide word processing services (typing on your behalf, etc.)
Provide private lessons, or accept payment or remuneration of any kind
Recommend products for you to buy (e.g., computers), do your online shopping, or
place ads for you (e.g., eBay, Craig’s List, Amazon consignment sales, want ads, etc.)
No appointments necessary. Computer Docent help is first come, first serve. If other patrons are waiting, Computer Docents can assist you for a maximum of thirty minutes. If you have any questions, please call the library at (925) 349-0883.
