Before the arrival of Europeans in Western North America, beavers were bountiful, ecosystem engineers. Their legacy is known all over the state and continues to leave thoughtful phrases wherever it goes, including “busy as a beaver”. Join Park Staff on this short walk near Lake Elizabeth and through Stivers Lagoon to learn about the American beaver, their importance, and their recovery. Finish the walk with a beaver-themed craft at the Nature Learning Center.
