Traditional skills for a new generation! We know that you're looking for a camp that will be entertaining during your camper's summer. The problem is, you're not sure where to send them! There should be a place where you feel confident to leave your child and be sure they'll have fun and learn something new! That's why Grandma's House was created - to provide a place for campers to learn brand-new life skills to guide them to live more confident and capable lives with joy! For many years, Grandma Linda has been caring for children and teaching them new skills along the way. From sewing a button to making jam to learning to cook, Grandma Linda will help the future generations learn traditional and usable life skills to become more independent and confident in life! They can bring their lunch or we can fix lunch here. Snacks are provided.Possible Activities: Cooking & Baking  We'll make yummy recipe that I'll prepare with the campers, like biscuits. Then, we'll eat it together with our lunch! By the end of the week, it's my hope that each of the campers will be able to read and understand basic recipes and follow the directions.  Sewing, Crochet or Macrame  We will learn how to sew a button and follow a basic pattern. We'll get to knit and learn how to macrame something fun, like a plant holder! Building small projects  Learning how to use small tools is a must!  We might get to build small projects like gnomes! Field Trips to the library  The library is such an amazing resource that often gets overlooked today. Together, we'll walk over to the library to read books. We'll maybe even check a few out for the week!  Crafts We will do fun arts and crafts activities throughout the week that the kids can take home to share with their families! Trips to the Park My dog, Miley (a very friendly yellow lab) loves it when the children come to the park with us! Swimming Every day we will go for an afternoon swim if the weather is nice! Other life skills to learn ...  Every week will look a bit different, but one thing will be the same: we'll be learning life skills together! From learning to use a screwdriver to reading a recipe; reading books to tying a tie, we'll get to learn lots of new things during your camper's week at Grandma's House!  Friday is Adventure Day!! Please note: This camp is held at the private residence of Grandma Linda & very friendly 9 year old yellow lab Miley. She is sweet and very friendly. She greets people with a lot of barking but once inside she wags her tail furiously.  She loves children!
