Outdoor nature camps to hike, read, write, and play for young trail blazers, curious naturalists, eager readers, and budding writers in forests of the Bay Area! Day camps in Berkeley, Oakland, and Cupertino. We hear the call of the wild! K-5th graders explore, hike, play, and learn 100% outdoors. At Inspire Behavioral Learning, we believe in learning by doing, so lessons are relevant to the learner's environment, engaging the whole child - head, heart, and body. In our seasonal camps, we combine: Enrichment in biology and language arts Kindness for campers and animalsExercise on fun hikes and in playStudent-Teacher Ratio: maximum number of students per teacher is 5:1.​​ActivitiesK-5 outdoor camps feature hikes and nature exploration with a blend of academics and play -- rain or shine.In forest camps, children hike, climb, navigate trails, craft and play animal "Guess Who?" and forest "I Spy" games, create and go on scavenger hunts, learn amazing animal facts, play entertaining perspective-taking games, create wilderness adventure stories, act in skits, craft story elements (characters, setting, plot, problem, and solution), illustrate stories, create narratives following the "story mountain," do nature journaling, create mini science experiments, develop literacy across genres, play animal hide and seek and chase games, write and illustrate what they sense (see, hear, smell, taste, and touch on their hikes, with bonus activities for the kinesthetic sense), deepen their sense of wonder, become eco-conscious, develop executive functioning skills to become hike leaders, strengthen stamina, make friendships, and more!We use emergent curriculum, based on children's own interests, and differentiated curriculum. We celebrate diversity and inclusion for different ethnicities, races, genders, and abilities. We welcome ESL/ELL learners, in addition to learners in general education and special education programs alike.
