Noorani Dance, founded by international Kathak artist, Farah Yasmeen Shaikh, offers a series of Garba Workshops to kick off the Navratri Season.
"Noorani" means bright or luminous, with a dual meaning of enlightenment. Through Kathak dance as the primary form, Noorani Dance is committed to enlightening minds and hearts through the arts, offering traditional and innovative training and performances, collaborative partnerships and projects, and a platform for various art forms to be shared and showcased.
Kathak dance of South Asia, involves rhythmic technique, graceful fluidity and expressive storytelling. Students learn the movement, music, etiquette and history that surrounds the dance form. International Kathak artist and founder of Noorani Dance, Farah Yasmeen Shaikh, offers this class for beginners, and experienced dancers - to learn the traditional and innovative style of Kathak, unique to Farah’s artistry and approach.
