Shoreline Lake Camps & Classes

Here’s your chance to take the helm and “sail away” in your own 14’ long sloop!

This course teaches all the basics needed to get you out on the water, safely maneuvering your sailboat (a Capri dinghy) around the lake. In addition, after successfully completing the course, students receive certification so they can rent boats on their own.

For those dreaming of exploring pristine rivers, shooting through rapids, or joining fellow kayak-surfers on the waves of Santa Cruz, this class is for you! For this introductory class, besides stroke techniques, Shoreline’s knowledgeable and experienced instructors will also teach launching and landing, nomenclature, self-rescue, water safety, and equipment tuning.

Equipment Note: Students should bring comfortable clothes, a bathing suit, a jacket or fleece, a towel and change of clothes, lots of sun protection, a lanyard to secure their glasses around their heads, a bottle of water, and non-skid/non-marking shoes.
