Oct. 5: Introduction to FinanceThe first day of the program will introduce the basics of finance to teens! Through discussion and hands-on activities, teens will understand how spending and income work. To learn about money management, teens will create budgets and will gain confidence by learning to advocate for themselves.Oct. 12: Saving and InterestTeens will dive into saving by learning about the different types of bank accounts, interest and how they can start saving. By writing a letter to their future selves, they will start to think about long-term goals and priorities.Oct. 19: Credit Cards and LoansTeens will learn about tackling loans and debt and understand some common pitfalls. Teens will learn about credit cards by dissecting credit statements and learning about credit card debt. To top it off, teens will learn about careers in the financial field!Oct. 26: The Stock MarketTeens will learn about the types of investing and how the stock market works. They will learn about stock portfolios and diversification and then put their skills to the test with a stock simulator. Lastly, teens will participate in some community service and write letters to girls in need!
