Water Polo - Youth Introduction

Fun Introduction to Water Polo for Youth

Presented by City of Napa Parks & Recreation Department

Government-Organized

Officially recognized by the local government

Splashball is designed to introduce the sport of water polo to children ages 5-11 years old. The intent is to provide basic skills and understanding of the sport in a recreational format. Although water polo is known for its toughness and endurance, Splashball harnesses all the fun, dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn aquatic experience that will motivate kids to swim and stay fit.

Participants should be able to pass a level 3 Swim Lesson Exit Assessment (below) and will be tested on the first day of class.

Jump into deep water from the side, recover to the surface, maintain position by treading or floating for 1 minute, rotate one full turn, then turn as necessary to orient to the exit point, level off, swim front crawl and/or elementary backstroke for 25 yards, then exit the water.

Push off in a streamlined position, then swim front crawl for 15 yards, change position and direction as necessary, swim elementary backstroke 15 yards, then exit the water.
