Paws to Read, the popular children's reading program is back for Spring 2024! Children in 1st through 5th grade can read in 25-minute sessions, one-on-one with one of Valley Humane Society's certified Canine Comfort teams. Paws to Read helps children develop confidence in reading aloud in a non-judgmental environment. Paws to Read is not a program to help children overcome a fear of dogs. Participating children must not be afraid of dogs nor have allergies to dogs.

Paws to Read sessions will be held at the Pleasanton Public Library.

Registration is required for all Spring 2024 Paws to Read participants. Registration opens March 26, 2024 at 10am. To register, please visit or call the Children's Desk at 925-931-3400 extension 3. Due to space restrictions, participants are limited to three sessions for Spring 2024.
