These short-course outrigger races are designed especially for the new or novice paddlers. You provide four people and we provide a canoe plus steer-person and stroker from the Pu Pu 'O Hawaii Outrigger Club. Let us know you are coming and get weekly updates on our Facebook Event! TEAMS Enter a 4-person crew Online and we will provide a stroker, steer-person and all necessary equipment with enough instruction to get you racing. Ability to swim required. Children must be at least twelve years of age. Members of an active outrigger paddling association \(i.e. NCOCA and SCORA\) are not eligible to be on a team but may volunteer as a stroker or steer-person. Call 831.420.5727 for more information. Each team receives four t-shirts and plenty of fun and sun! Entries limited and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis first-basis, so enter now! HOW TO ENTER - New this year: two part registration! All participants will need a WebTrac account - Part 1: Team registration - the team captain, or manager, will register the team using WebTrac \(Activity \# TBD\), answer all questions, including creating a passcode for participant registration. The team passcode must be a unique code that will allow only team members to register as participants for their specific team, pay all fees, then our Rec Staff will modify a participant registration section to set the team's name and passcode. - Part 2: The team captain, or manager, will then distribute the passcode to their participants, who be able to register online once the team has been updated in our RecTrac system. The participants will need their own WebTrac account and register using Activity \# \(TBD\) and their corresponding team section. When they start the online registration process, the player will be prompted to enter their team passcode to continue. The Aloha Outrigger waiver is linked to the participant registration process. An email confirming your entry will be sent to your Captain. Each team will receive one parking pass per team handed out the day of the event. We recommend carpooling as parking on the Wharf is limited. Early bird rate TBD. Regular rate TBD. Coming Soon! REGISTER HERE! \* A Free Agents List is available, details to follow! \*All racers will need to sign the Pu Pu ‘O Hawaii NCOCA waiver\* ALOHA SPIRIT AWARD The team displaying the most spirit will win the Aloha Spirit Award. Teams will be judged on creativity and collaboration between team members. Judging will take place 8:30 - 9:00 am at the Team Check In Booth and winner will be announce before the semifinals race. AWARDS Awards will be given out to 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th place winners. Presentation of awards will be around 1:30PM! \*Please note that All times are approximate. Home based in Santa Cruz County for the last 25 years. Mentor for Kumu Mehana is Loea Kawaikapuokalani of Kāneʻohe, O'ahu. This year 2022 Loea celebrates 50 yrs. of teaching Hula in Hawai'i, USA Continent, Japan, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Tahiti and other countries around the world.
