Join Rebecca Lawton, author, scientist, and long-time guide, for a literary bird walk on Oona-pa’is (Sonoma Mountain). We’ll stroll toward Jack London’s lake, looking for wild birds and especially musing on corvids. We’ll investigate crow talk, raven lore, and those baffling jays as well as look into writing about the mountain’s avian life from before, during, and after Jack London’s time.
The distance we’ll cover will be based on the bird life we observe but expect 1 to 3 miles round trip.
Learn more about Rebecca Lawton and see the amazing list of bird sightings from last year, 2023.
Wear sturdy shoes, bring water, optional snacks, hiking poles, and dress in layers. Binoculars are highly recommended.
