All volunteers, including children, must register individually before their volunteer shift
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a guardian present. If volunteering without a guardian, prior approval is needed from both the guardian and Redwood Empire Food Bank staff.
For essential information about volunteering and answers to common questions from our volunteers about what to expect, we require all volunteers to read our Volunteer Handbook.
Respect, fairness, and kindness are essential. Negative remarks or harassment will not be tolerated. Civil Rights training is required for volunteers aged 18\+
Expect to lift 15-35 lbs and be on your feet throughout the entire shift.
Speak to your Site Coordinator if you need food assistance.
Tech-savvy? Consider assisting with W5 sign-in support.
Distribution Site Safety:
Please arrive at your volunteer shift on time and report to the Site Coordinator. Staff will go over safety and assign duties at the beginning of the shift.
This is a drive-thru distribution, so be prepared to load cars with food and with all aspects of the food distribution, from set-up to clean-up.
Dress brightly or wear a safety vest, wear closed-toed shoes, bring water, and dress in layers.
