This class will integrate math and science concepts in hands-on activities and projects. We will design interdisciplinary lessons and experiments that demonstrate the interconnectedness of these subjects and show how they are applied in real-world contexts. We will conduct simple chemistry experiments using ingredients found in the kitchen to explore concepts like states of matter, chemical reactions, and measurement. Children will be challenged to design and build structures using everyday materials like toothpicks, marshmallows, and spaghetti noodles. They will explore concepts of stability, balance, and geometry as they construct bridges, towers, and other architectural marvels. The class will engage in collecting and analyzing data from science experiments or real-world phenomena. They will record observations, measure variables, and graph their results to identify patterns and trends. $15 material fee is payable to instructor at the first class. No class 10/3 & 10/31.
