Come out and celebrate Native American Heritage Month at Chitactac-Adams Heritage county park with Gilroy Library! We will be there on Saturday, November 16th, from 10am-12pm.

10001 Watsonville Rd Gilroy, CA 95020

Chitactac-Adams Heritage County Park is a special place to discover the traditions of the Indigenous people who resided along the Uvas Creek for thousands of years. Families will explore the plants, wildlife, and life of what was the Chitactac community village through activity stations.

The site is a wealth of cultural artifacts including bedrock mortars and petroglyphs found throughout the grounds. A visit to the park will explain how the Indigenous people lived and respectfully managed the land and its importance to the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band’s life today.

So bring the family and connect with the rich history of this land through play!

For those with severe nut allergies please be aware that one of the activity stations will include acorn grinding!

This is a free event including parking. Registration is required.
