In the middle of this busy city our local hill, Corona Heights, is a refuge for birds. More than 60 bird species are found here regularly. Join us as we explore this windy cliffside in search of birds. Led by expert ornithologist, Dominik Mosur, we’ll search for nesting birds, fly-through migrants and the wintering visitors that call our city home for at least part of the year. On the hill, we’ll focus on visual identification, sound identification and habitat recognition, and, we’ll learn to take good field notes. For the second half of each class meeting, we’ll move into the shop. Working with Animal Exhibit Curator Nick Barkley, we’ll draw on our field notes to design and build species-appropriate bird houses
