This program will educate students on the fundamentals of computer hardware. In this workshop, students will learn the basics of computing and how to build a computer system. Each student will be provided a kit of computer components and given in-depth descriptions of how these components function and their placement in a computer system. Once a system is fully functional and configured, students will have the opportunity to explore the computer system.
The first portion will focus on getting familiar with computing components with a slide presentation; the second portion will be the building portion with visual guides provided. Participants will be working in groups for the building portion. Assistance will be provided by the instructor as needed.
All kits/parts will be provided during the program and need to be returned to the instructor at the end of the program.
