Considering going to college after you graduate high school? Not sure what your options are? Curious about what you can do now to prepare for college applications? You should join Biblioteca Latinoamericana's college prep series!

This three (3) session, hybrid series will cover everything from activities and opportunities to consider in middle school and high school, how to search for colleges that are right for you, as well as essay writing and preparing for college applications. You can sign up for all three sessions or only join the one you're most interested in. 

All sessions will be hosted via Zoom and streamed at the branch community room. Participants can join remotely from their own device, or are welcome to come to the branch to participate in a group setting with onsite virtual conference equipment.

  • Sports, Band, Journalism, Theatre: What Activities Should I Do In High School?Thursday, October 24 at 5pm | Presented by Cohort
    • Cohort has guided 100+ high schoolers and their parents through college admissions. Join Cohort co-founder Kian Simpson for a live, virtual workshop. We’ll walk through what kinds of activities colleges are looking for when evaluating applicants and how to pursue them. Come ready with questions!
  • No College Is Worth $300K in Debt: How to Get Good Value from College with the Right Research | Tuesday, October 29 at 4pm | Presented by Cohort
    • Cohort has guided 100+ high schoolers and their parents through college admissions. Join Cohort co-founder Kian Simpson for a live, virtual workshop. We’ll walk through efficient strategies to find affordable schools and avoid accruing massive debt for college. Come ready with questions!
      Bio:
      Kian Simpson is the co-founder and Head of Curriculum at Cohort, an affordable college counseling service. He graduated from Harvard in 2019 with a degree in Neurobiology and began his career in management consulting before transitioning to education.
