Storytime at San José Library

Storytime is designed to accommodate a mix of ages and invites the entire family to participate in early literacy activities such as stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement activities. Storytime is a fun and interactive experience for the whole family that promotes the joys of reading and learning for all ages. This program is geared for children of all ages and their parents/caregivers!

After storytime, please stay and play with us! We'll have a selection of toys available to enjoy. Meet other families and have fun playing with new and old friends. 

Free, with limited capacity. Tickets available at the desk 30 minutes before program starts.

Join us for a special storytime as we celebrate and learn about Hispanic Heritage Month through stories, songs, and more of your favorite storytime activities.

This program is in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Storytime: 4:00pm-4:30pm

Stay & Play: 4:30pm - 5:00pm

After Storytime concludes, families are invited to Stay & Play! For 30 minutes after storytime, special, age-appropriate toys will be available to keep the fun going. The librarian will also be there to answer any questions, recommend books, and talk to families!

As we navigate pandemic life, here are a few modifications to our Storytime:

· Please note that this will be an indoor program.

· Seating for Storytime is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A limited number of tickets will be distributed at the Information Desk 30 minutes prior to the start of Storytime. San José Public Library Storytimes are in alignment with the City’s Education and Digital Literacy Initiative.
