Live at The HIVE presents the Shawn Thwaites Rebel Quartet during a free outdoor concert on Friday, July 26 from 5-8pm!  Come jive and jam with this eclectic ensemble that fuses steel drum with jazz, R&B, afro-beat and calypso. Enjoy a seasonal menu, craft beverages and complimentary honey tasting at The HIVE Tasting Room & Kitchen, northern California’s largest honey and mead tasting room. Family and dog friendly. All ages welcome.  About Shawn Thwaites Rebel Quartet : Shawn Thwaites Rebel Quartet \(STRQ\) was born out of an exploratory effort to fuse intricate masterpieces of Caribbean, African, American, and European composers. With the steeldrum at the helm, STRQ is undoubtedly the world’s most eclectic ensemble. Bringing together elements of jazz, rhythm and blues, hip hop, afro-beat, and calypso, STRQ pushes the limits of innovation, while remaining loyal to authentic world sounds.  As a Trinidadian-American musician and educator, Shawn Thwaites authentically presents the steel drum and its deeply rooted history, while pushing the instrument and culture to uncharted territories. Thwaites has toured internationally, performed in some of the worlds most prestigious venues and recorded with notable artists, such as Lauryn Hill, Walter Beasley, and Greg Philliganes.  Live at The HIVE is a FREE concert series featuring an incredible lineup of local and touring bands from June thru October.
