The Riekes Center Summer Documentary Program is an intensive, collaborative, and exciting film program designed to teach students filmmaking techniques necessary to create Documentaries about issues that affect their everyday lives. The program covers all aspects of documentary film production - concept to final edit. The program will run for 4 weeks in the summer of 2024. Students will meet for 5 hours/day for the first two weeks. The third and fourth weeks are dedicated to shooting and editing projects.

The Documentary Program is an opportunity for youth to have fun while learning about filmmaking and other cultures, meet other students who share similar interests, and work with professional local filmmakers. Because of the collaborative and demanding immersion the program requires, attendance is mandatory.

This program is made possible by funding from The California Arts Council.
