The Wizard of Oz - Theatre Performance - 23 Elephants Theatre Co

Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Along the way, Dorothy encounters witches, Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys, and befriends a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.

Every class will begin with a physical and vocal warm-up, then age-appropriate theatre games. After that, students will block their scenes, practice their lines, and learn dances under the guidance of skilled instructors, with an emphasis on having fun and working together.

Costume fee of $25 due to instructor upon first class.

The hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity. A young Buddy mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy goes to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn't believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to help his family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
