Being a lifeguard can be one of the most rewarding jobs in recreation. Lifeguards provide water safety and security measures, and are first responders in time of need. Trainees will learn adult, child and infant CPR; water safety, water rescues, as well as first aid and emergency response procedures. Trainees will be required to pass a pre-course swimming test during the first class. Upon successful completion of the course written and skills tests, trainees will receive a 2-year American Red Cross Certification for Lifeguarding, First aid, CPR and AED.

Lifeguard Orientation Day: Saturday March 26th at 9am. Get an early opportunity to practice the physical tests before the start of the class!

Upon successful completion of the written and skills tests, trainees will receive a 2-year American Red Cross Certification for Lifeguarding, First aid, CPR and AED. Trainees that successfully apply and receive employment with the City Of Vacaville Aquatics program will receive a 50% reimbursement on fees paid after completing 300 hours of work.

*NOTE*: This is a blended-learning class, and will require completion of the online learning component before Day 1 of the certification. Please watch your email inbox in the weeks prior to the course.
