Celebrating Forty Years of ZERO
Forty years ago, guitarist Steve Kimock and drummer Greg Anton went into a studio and recorded what was to become the inception of the repertoire for the band Zero. As one of the innovators of improvisational jam band music, Zero has become a San Francisco musical institution. The band has played more than 1,300 concerts across the country, being joined onstage by such luminaries as Jerry Garcia, John Cipollina, DerekTrucks, Martin Fierro, Nicky Hopkins, and John Kahn. Robert Hunter wrote the lyrics for the band's vocal tunes. Steve Kimock, considered one of the country's greatest guitarists, will lead these shows along with Greg Anton (drums), Pete Sears (bass), Banana (guitar), Hadi El Sadoon (trumpet), Spencer Burrows (keys), and some special surprise guests! Zero shows are a musical journey from sublime ballads to blow the roof off rock & roll. Simply stated, Zero shows are pure magic! I've seen a lot of bands, and no band can put the whammy on a crowd like Zero. Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter
A portion of the proceeds from these shows will benefit the Camp Winnarainbow Grace & Joy Scholarship Fund. Founded by Mr. & Mrs. Wavy Gravy, Camp Winnarainbow is a joyful and magical sleep away camp where kids from all backgrounds develop community, self-confidence, and artistry through circus and performing arts. The Grace & Joy scholarship fund provides an opportunity for economically challenged kids to attend Camp. Visit campwinnarainbow.org for more info.
The event is brought to you by Tapestry Productions, a local non-profit that produces live music events that help make the world a better place. Visit tapestryproductions.org for more info and to see a retrospective of their work.
Tickets: $50 General Admission, $125 VIP (VIP tickets include a reserved seat in the terraced area of the main floor, a commemorative poster signed by the artists – there will be a unique poster for each night, and a collectible laminate pass.)
