Get prepared for a rewarding job in Aquatics with our Lifeguard Training Course. 

This course prepares participants for the job of Lifeguarding by providing the skills and knowledge to prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies in an aquatic environment. Participants will learn lifesaving techniques, including in-water rescues, CPR, AED, and First Aid. Upon completing the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Administering Emergency Oxygen, First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22), Asthma Inhaler and Epinephrine Auto-Injector. and Bloodborne Pathogens.

This course includes content and skills from the 2017 Lifeguarding and First Aid for Public Safety Personnel programs.                                                                                                                          

Age Requirement: Participants must be 15 years old by the last day of class. 

Course Pre-requisites: Participants must be able to do the following: 

  • Swim 12 continuous laps
  • Tread water for 2 minutes, only using your legs. 
  • Swim 20 yards and recover a 10lb object from 7-10ft water and swim back in 1 min, 40 seconds.
